Distribution

Widespread but localised distribution across England and Wales. Recent records from 251 hectads. Historically known from Scotland but no modern records.

Habitat and ecology

Ectoparasite of amphibians and freshwater fish, but often also often found free-living. Found in a variety of freshwater habitats, particularly weedy, stagnant ponds.

Red dots are historical (> 10 years old), black dots current (<= 10 years old).
